Today’s the day: Ubuntu Clinic has officially opened its doors! It’s been a long and at times stressful journey getting here, but I am grateful to finally open this space.
We spent the morning putting together supplies for our first week — we were able to package 5 glucometers, 10 baggies of condoms, and we’re currently working on assembling hygiene kits for distribution. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our contributors — thank you so much for helping us make this dream real!
As we get into our first week, our goals are simple but full of heart:
1. Reach out to local churches to buid partnerships and share resources.
2. Connect with a local trans coalition to collaborate on gender-affirming and community care.
3. Reach out to two Alcoholics Anonymous groups to explore ways to support people in recovery.
4. Connect with HIV support groups to strengthen our network of care and solidarity.
As always, please do share our website and our fundraiser with those who are passionate about our mission, and who are able to support us in caring for our patients. Until next week – Licho.
