Ubuntu Clinic has received word that our certification with Medi-Cal and LA Care is still a ways away, maybe as long as 2-3 months. While this is a disappointing setback, we remain deeply committed to expanding access to affirming, community-centered care in Los Angeles. Our mission hasn’t changed and neither has our determination.
To support our community during this waiting period, we’re launching a three-month Access to Care campaign beginning immediately and going on until February. During this time, we will offer same-day and walk-in visits for a flat $80 fee for the following services:
- Work and school physicals
- STI screening and treatment
- Gender-affirming care consults
- Mental health and ADHD assessments
- Second-opinion medical consults
As always, our Anti-Oppression Sliding Scale remains available for anyone who cannot afford the flat fee. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
How we’re spreading the word:
One of our priorities is spreading the word about the Access to Care Campaign. To respect privacy and autonomy, all advertising will be non-targeted and community-minded. This includes:
- Tabling at upcoming local health fairs and community events
- Increasing our social media presence
- Ongoing outreach to local community organizations and mutual aid groups
We’re grateful for your patience and support as we move toward full Medi-Cal certification. Please to give us a follow on Instagram @ubuntuclinicla and TikTok @ubuntu.clinic – our links are on the home page. As always, thank you to our supporters on Open Collective and Venmo as we work toward reaching our fundraising goals!
